I’m Ready!

It’s Wednesday. Surgery is Friday. I’m ready. At least I think I am. I’ve had my pre-op visit with Dr. Preston. All the steps are completed. Today, I had an experience that has definitely been helpful. I went to Orik Physiotherapy in Peterborough to learn about the cryo-cuff they sell.

While I was there, a couple came in. He had his surgery one week ago today. He arrived walking with a cane. Oh, I needed to see him, climb the steps and walk in. I needed to talk with him and his wife. It was absolutely wonderful. I had been trying to imagine walking on my new knee right after surgery. Today I saw it happen.

At the same time, another man came in for his last physio appointment. He was two months out from surgery and walking fine. I didn’t realize how much I needed to see people at those two stages. I’ve talked to many who told me to do the exercises, who said it would be tough at first but I’ll be fine. The difference today was to that here were two people, one at the beginning and one just about ready to totally fly. Wow. I know I can do it.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a little group of people, some like me, with their surgery date, and some heading for their first physio appointment. My short visits today brought the surgery from the unknown land of fantasy to reality. I’ve been focusing on trusting God, and finding it difficult. As usual, God knew what I needed. Today’s experience has left me ready. Now I know that all will be well. Thank you, God.

Tomorrow I’m off to Napanee with my books and ready to tell some stories. I’ll fly on the Spirit. It’s always a privilege to be asked to speak to a group. Tomorrow at Grace United, I get to speak about Storytelling and Faith with a gathering of women from the area United Churches. Whether or not you’re a part of a women’s group in a church, please accept this as your invitation. I’d love to see you, speak with you and share my stories and my books.

I’m ready for tomorrow and ready for Friday. Yay!!!! Thank you ahead of time for your prayers. Blessings to you all. Janet

I am so glad I didn’t run off alone to shop the cryo-cuff on price alone. First, I don’t think I’d have got it right. Price isn’t everything, and I want the best for my best. Second, I would have pre-empted your opportunity to meet and gain support from others. You go girl! Love you ’til death do us part.
