Our Christmas celebrations are over, and yet…I don’t want to let it go completely. I want Christmas to be a vehicle of change for our world. When I went to post a blog tonight, I found this poem that I wrote the week before Christmas. I don’t write poetry. So I don’t usually post poems. Tonight, it seemed important that I post this poem anyway. Blessings Janet
We celebrate Christmas because…
Jesus was born in the darkness of Roman occupation.
Jesus was born in the darkness of homelessness.
Jesus was born anyway.
The angels rejoiced.
The shepherds rejoiced
The wise from around the world rejoiced.
The wonder of this story
Challenges us
Reminds us
We can make room
We can celebrate.
When we’re afraid.
The child is born anyway.
Love happens.
The Good News is told.
Let’s join the rejoicing.
Let’s spread the Good News.
Love is born with every child.
Love can change the world.
