Coming Soon/Almost Here!!!!!!

The Cover for Dipping Your Toes, Too is ready. My book designer, Sue Reynolds, and I spent quite some time deciding on a cover for Dipping Your Toes, Too.  I dreamed of having many ethnic origins represented. I dreamed of a picture of happy people using my resource. I dreamed of…  Of course, I’m not an artist. I searched and searched the internet for the perfect picture. It wasn’t to be found. And then, my small amount of knowledge when it comes to marketing told me that the cover needed to be similar to that of Dipping Your Toes.

               So here it is. We’ve changed the colours and the text and used the same picture. When you put the two books on your shelf, they will match. They’ll be easy to find. Besides, this new volume is filled with lots more relevant reflections, prayers, hymn and more. It’s just like the old one that you have used and loved. The cover needed to be similar.

               Today, I’m waiting for Sue to send the final interior files of Dipping Your Toes, Too. Tom and I and editor friend Diane, will go over them carefully for formatting issues and typos before giving the okay to go to print. Sue says if we can do our job quickly, I could have print books in hand for the Hills and Shores UCW gathering April 2nd in Warkworth. We’ll do our best.

                This book feels truly like my new baby. The “labour” has been long but not painful. I love writing and especially writing reflections on scripture. As I worked on this book, I imagined sitting with your small group, or in your Sunday worship as your leaders used and adapted my work to give you an experience of God’s Spirit. I give thanks to God that this is my calling.

                As with all callings to ministry, God never calls us to be lone rangers. I am truly blessed to have my wonderful partner/husband, musician, friend, Tom, who has worked tirelessly beside me picking out hymns. And then, there is Diane Claridge, a dedicated lay leader in her Dunsford congregation and my friend. She has given her time, her expertise and her questions to the creation of Dipping Your Toes Too.
